Evaluation Of The Pitch #4

One Monday Me Jess, Meg and Joe took to the class to present our pitch for the video we had chosen to create for coursework. Initially I thought our pitch went really well but looking back at the footage we took I think there were a few bits we could of improved on, firstly I was asked ‘is the concept of the swimming pool related to the idea of fun and party and festival and just outdoors’. I answered this by explaining that the swimming pool would only be used as disjuncture because nowhere in the lyrics is a pool mention but went on to say that the effect of disjuncture is ‘easier’ to create which now thinking about story boarding the music video I realize is completely wrong and possibly even more difficult because I found its hard to write things down that are a bit whacky because you have to be original in your ideas.

One thing I did like was the way we shared the questions and talking throughout the group showing we work well and have the same ideas, which we shall need when storyboarding and filming our music video.

But on a brighter note we didn’t get asked many questions buy our audience whish as Joe has already stated included some of our target audience (who would know about conventions of a typical ‘indie’ music video so would be able to flag any problems up) which to me tells me Meg did a good job in conveying our ideas in the animoto.

If I was to do the pitch again the only things I would change would be the way I answered my question and using a better camera so we can see our faces more clearly and hear our answers better.
