Evaluation of the pitch #3

I think our pitch went really well as a group, we didn't plan a speech as we wanted to get a real audience reaction simply from our animoto video. We answered a small number of questions about the information we had left out of our pitch video; this meant we were able to elaborate on our answers better than if it was all included in the 25 words.
As Joe mentioned in a previous evaluation of our pitch, we were questioned on whether our photo of the swimming pool was a 'poly tunnel' which we found amusing as we had described how we were going to show a fun, energetic style to our video... most definitely in a swimming pool rather than a poly tunnel.
One particular question we received was based on our theme 'disjuncture', we were asked how we were going to show this and in what ways. Our answers were simple, the locations we have chosen to use allow us to have multiple disjuncture shots - the most exciting is the private swimming pool that we have access to, as well as inside the caravan which is quite an alternative/indie style location to shoot in. As we have previously uploaded photos of our locations, we have already shown the range of areas we have available to use.
As we all had input throughout the pitch it showed our connection as a group and that all our thoughts and interests collect together proving our dedication to our genre and agreements as a team.

Evaluation Of The Pitch

Overall, I am pleased with how our pitch to the class went. I also think the Animoto I created was successful in what it's aim was- that was to inform the class about who our band are, what song we're using, inspiration, ideas for the video and locations we might use, as well as who our target audience is. We started the pitch by playing the Animoto so the class watching it gained an understanding (hopefully a clear one) about what we will be creating. We then went on to ask if anyone had any further questions, and we were pleased that there was because it gave us the chance to go into more detail as we were limited to 25 words. Some of the questions that were asked included "Why have you chosen to use disjunture?", which was a good question to ask as it gave us the opportunity to speak about what we'd like to do in the locations that we have chosen, such as performances in the caravan and barn or have the band messing around in the pool.
To conclude, I am happy with my groups pitch as we all answered as many questions as we could and helped our class gain a clear insight as to what we'll be doing!

Evaluation Of Pitch

We presented our 25 word pitch to our class (of which some people fit into our target audience) and attained some feedback.

One person asked: "Is that a poly tunnel?" regarding one of our location ideas which was answered as a swimming pool. We were then asked whether the swimming pool was part of the idea of outdoors, fun and festivals. As we have chosen our music video to show disjuncture and abstract shots we believe this to be quite an ideal place to take some shots.

We were asked why disjuncture may be the way forward for our band's music video instead of a performance-type video. We believe that it is quite typical and conventional of the indie/alternative genre to use disjuncture in their videos and create a happy/playful atmosphere that matches the tempo of the song which helps to make the video more memorable and fulfill its purpose of marketing and advertising the band and giving them recognition.

Overall, i think that the pitch covers most of the questions that people would like to ask and i think that our ideas are quite concise and clear, therefore easy to understand. I do not think that there were any issues raised that we were not aware of and if we were to perform this pitch again, we wouldn't say that it was "easier" to do disjuncture as it comes across as we are going for the easier option - but that is not the case.

 Overall, i think that we worked well as a team and i also think that our pitch was successful and i'm happy with how it went.
