4. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Animoto
- Meg used animoto to create our 25 word pitch, animoto is good for interesting quick presentations using a combination of images and texts. It really can only be used for small bits of information as you have not control as to how ling information is on the screen meaning large blocks of text may be lost

Blogger
- Blogger was used by all 4 of us and is the core for our coursework, here was where we posted how we were getting along, research, drafts and initially our final products. Because it is over the internet it meant we could access it anywhere meaning work we started in the lesson was saved so we could finish it at home, it also allowed use to comment on peoples posts for when we couldn't get to them in person

Digital Still Camera (Sony NEX-5 + Canon 1000D)
- My Sony NEX-5 was used in the video for the stop motion with the bike, the initial press shots of the band and for my digipak and posters. I also allowed Meg to use my camera for her digipak and poster. Jess and Joe both had the same Canon 1000D camera and like me and Meg thy used them for press shots and digipak/poster

Facebook
- Like blogger facebook played a key role in the creation of out music video, what was good is that we could create groups on facebook one for our group to comment on organisation and any problems we had and then another one so we could contact the band members easily as over the 8 of us we spanned 3 schools and 8 villages.
- Facebook also allowed us to get audience feedback throughout the enitre project on differnt parts such as what font to use on my digipak to feedback on the final video

Flickr
- I and Jess used Flickr to share photos between the rest of the group, it meant that we could upload whole albums and anyone could see them, as long as we set the albums to public

iDvd
- I used iDVD at the very end of editing to put the final video onto a DVD for handing in, iDVD allowed me to add titles and menus

iPod
- When it was impractical to take a laptop to locations such as the forest and the pool we decided to use and iPod to play the track

iTunes
- iTunes was simply used to play the Little Comets song from

Internet (Safari for google, youtube, twitter, blogger)
- I think im not the only one in saying that without the internet we would be lost trying to do the project, for one it powers half the technologies we have used but it also helped when researching. The most common sight we used was the search engine google  which is where we found allot of information on our research

Logitech Speakers
- In the draft i played the track from my Mac but it wasn't that loud and we agreed that was why Steve was shy to sing loud enough to show he was singing; so in the final we used Jess' speakers to boost the volume and help Steve along abit

MacBook Pro
- My MacBook Pro was used throughout the project form researching to playing music to editing and to finally doing this evaluation

Phone (iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia and Samsung)
- Like facebook was for communication our phones where also vital to communicate we used them when we needed an urgent response such as last minute filming or to ask a band member to remember to wear their shirt

Photocopier
- I used the photocopier to copy the storyboard Jess and Meg created so that if we lost on we had another copy (which did come in use)

Photoshop
- We all used photoshop to edit the photos for our digipak and poster

Premiere Pro
- this was my choice of editing software and me Meg and Jess spent many hours huddled round my laptop finalising what parts of what clips we used for the draft and final music video. I solely also used it to put together the story board, created my Jess and Meg, into the animatic.

Scanner
- I used a scanner to san in the storyboard to then create the animatic in Premiere Pro as well as uploading written documents onto the blog/facebook

Scribd
- This website let me upload word documents to then embed them into blogger

Slideshare
- Slideshare is a bit like Scribd but instead of uploading word documents it let me upload powerpoints like the one i created on a theorist Andrew Goodwin

Tube Chop
- i personally didnt use this website but i now Jess did in the making of her evaluation question 1 where she cut down the ending to the Vampire Weekend video A-Pink

Twitter
- For those who know twitter is like facebook in the fact its a social networking site and allows us to share 160 characters of information between me Meg and Jess

Youtube
- I used youtube to upload our animatic, draft music video and final video

Video Camera (Sony NEX-5 and 7)
- Finally our video cameras of choice where the Sony NEX-5/7 these where mine and Jess' and we decided to use them as they had similar resolutions and mine (the main one we used) filmed in full 1080p which helped when editing as it picked up every detail in the mouth movement.

  1. Harry, this is the most difficult question and you need to create a greater sense of connectivity between the technologies you used. Watch Steff Humes' video again for some ideas.
