3. What have you learned from audience feedback?

For the final evaluation as a group we are going to show our video to two form groups during mentor time as this is the best way to get an age ranged feedback from a large group of people. As our school has vertical mentoring we have students from the age of 14 up to 18 in each form; groups are of approximately 25 students so we will get a group of roughly 50 together to take part in our simple questionnaires whilst watching the music video. This will allow us to receive even more audience feedback.

Draft Video
- We had a wide range of audience feedback from peers to our teacher and even the Little Comets themselves which was a nice surprise. Our peers all left us good comments on the Facebook page and twitter feed that gave us a boost for our final that was due in only a few weeks later. However we did realise that because they were only consumers and not prosumers they would of had little knowledge of the techniques of a music video.

- As a happy contrast Mr Smith our media teacher left us 22 points of improvement to be made for our final music video (we had expected some like; The lead singer needs to pronounce his words more and others like the editing needs to be on the beat). Although this did seem daunting at the start it only helped us to achieve the best grade i could.

- Finally we had feedback from the ultimate peers the band we used for the song Little Comets, we managed to have a small conversation between us and them to which they highlighted parts they enjoyed and a few parts they thought made us 'quirky'.

Final Video
- So far we don't have as much feedback for the final music video as we have for the draft, so far we have spoken word by friends a comment form Mr Smith and another one from the Little Comets. Because we need more we are going to ask a few more people to comment as well as the idea we have suggested earlier

- Students i have shown the video to have said liked it and also preferred it to the draft because 'it looked more professional'

- Mr Smith has given us a brief comment saying well done and that he is proud; we are also waiting for him to give a more lengthy feedback

- Again finally we had a little comment from the Little Comets; this was just to say that they thought the pool needed a clean. Even though they didn't give their view on the video like they did for the draft we took this a good news they liked it

Draft Digipak / Poster
- For my draft digipak / poster i managed to get feedback from my teachers and peers using the Facebook page i had created for The Skeleton Boys.

Final Digipak / Poster
- Like my draft i got the same feedback for my final digipak and poster, on whole this was a lot more positive than the draft, one of the things why i think this is because my 'cover girl' is one of the pupils at our college so people felt more happier to comment

- My poster didn't really change from the draft so people didn't feel the need to make comments on rather just said if they liked it or not, a few even made the connection in the similarities between my digipak and poster to the one by The Vaccines

  1. Tibbles, ignoring the fact I dont rate as the ultimate feedback try and pick apart some of the things both I and the Little Comments said. Then once you've received your full peer feedback compare them.

Sadly I won't be giving more lengthy feedback prior to you submitting your evaluation as I need to meet with Mrs A as well as the rest of the media team.
